This wonderful couple asked us to transform their awkward kitchen into a larger, more open design allowing them to entertain, spend time with family or just hang out in the morning in a beautiful space. We gained space by extending cabinets and a large island into a dining area. We also recommended a built-in cabinet in the same area to connect the spaces aesthetically. During the construction process, we mocked up the island and cabinet locations so Pam and Paul could make sure the size and location of the island was just right for them, and that clearances for the dishwasher and refrigerator doors would not interfere with activity flow. The custom built-in cabinet is now the cornerstone of Pam’s jadeite glass collection and the butler’s pantry provides plenty of storage and pull-out shelves for Paul’s BBQ rubs and spices.
